Iran drone attack on al-Dhafra air base in the United Arab Emirates

Iran has claimed to have launched a drone attack on the al-Dhafra air base in the United Arab Emirates.

According to the Iranian Tasnim news agency, the attack was carried out by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy.

The report states that several military targets were hit during the operation, including a US satellite communications center, as well as early warning and fire control radar systems.

So far, the international television station Al Jazeera has not been able to independently verify this claim.

United Arab Emirates authorities have not yet given an official comment on the reports of the attack.

Al-Dhafra Air Base is one of the most important military installations in the region and is used by the United Arab Emirates air force, as well as the United States military and its allies for operations in the Middle East.

The situation remains unclear as independent confirmations and official reactions from the parties involved are awaited./ CNA
