Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi has denied that they were the ones who laid mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran's statement comes days after the US said it had struck ships equipped to do so operating near the shipping channel.
"Some countries have already talked to us about crossing the Strait and we have been cooperating with them ," Takht-Ravanchi told the media.
"But countries that joined the aggression against Iran should not benefit from safe passage," he adds, saying the regime wants to ensure that war is not imposed on it again. /CNA
