About 180 associations and business chambers that lobby against government policies will merge to create a National Chamber of Commerce.

The Minister of Entrepreneurship, Delina Ibrahimaj, said this Sunday that the reason for the merger of the associations is because they represent only 10% of businesses in the country.

"There is a marked lack of representation. In my experience, both in the Ministry of Finance and in the Ministry of Entrepreneurship, it is very difficult to identify who represents a certain sector. According to the data, only 10% of businesses are organized in chambers, the rest is unrepresented", she said on the show "E-zone".

Ibrahimaj said that membership in the National Chamber of Commerce will be compulsory, while he emphasized that it will be paid.

"In the first place, the small business will have a symbolic payment, it has not been decided yet how much they will pay as we are in discussions. It will not be perceived as a tax, because it will be symbolic. As for big business, we will take the models of other countries, where one of the scenarios is payment based on turnover. Certain ceilings will be determined, which will not be exceeded in terms of the annual payment", the minister underlined./ CNA
