A former director of a bank in Tirana has been arrested in London. Florent Nako is accused of robbing a client of money in 2018 and 2019.

According to Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu, who referred to documents from the extradition court in London, Nako has been placed in handcuffs with the aim of extradition to Albania. The 40-year-old is expected to appear before the court in London on November 11, 2025.

Taking advantage of his position as director, on October 15, 2018, he stole 4,000 euros from a person's account at the bank branch where he worked in Kombinat.

The 40-year-old is accused of a second case, specifically on July 8, 2019, where he stole the amount of 1,300,000 lek, from the same bank branch. On July 26, 2019, he is reported to have also taken 550,000 lek from the account of the person who had stolen 4 thousand euros from him. He is charged with the criminal offense of "Theft committed by abuse of office". /CNA
