Government decision/ Support for start-ups in 3 phases

The Council of Ministers approved this Wednesday a decision on start-ups.

The decision helps with financing in 3 phases of start-ups. The first phase includes young people who have an innovative idea with a maximum fund of 1.5 million ALL.

The second phase involves entities that have a prototype and want to develop it. The second phase makes available the sum of up to ALL 4.5 million.

While the third phase includes the growth phase category with a maximum of 9 million ALL.

This decision was presented by the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Delina Ibrahimaj.

"We approved a decision which is very important in terms of the development of the start-up ecosystem. The decision is related to the approval of the conditions and criteria for the support with grants that the government gives to start-ups and facilitators.

This VKM will pave the way for the opening of the call for 2024, which is expected to be launched on February 16, which will support start-ups in 3 stages of their development.

It will support start-ups, which are in the initial stage of development, with a fund of a maximum of 1.5 million lek, where any individual, young person, student, digital nomad, who is not said to be registered in the CKB.

In the second phase of validation, entities that have been operating for at least one year, that have reflected a pair of financial data, that have created a prototype and that want to develop the prototype through funds, which must be tradable. This category will be supported up to ALL 4.5 million.

There will be a third category of support, those categorized in the growth phase, where the prototype has been developed, is marketable but still needs financing in order to grow or for that object of activity to be internationalized. These types of subjects will be supported with a maximum amount of 9 million lek", said the minister. / CNA
