Sworn in as Director of the State Police/ Hita: Priority, the fight against

The new Director of the State Police, Skënder Hita, has kept his word after being sworn in. Hita said that he does not see this task as a personal achievement but a responsibility towards the citizens and the country.

He also said that it is a challenge to deepen the results and further improve the image of the State Police.

Among other things, he added that the police's priority remains the fight against crime and corruption and increasing order and security in schools and the community.

“Today is the most important day of my career in the State Police. After a 25-year journey in the blue uniform, with the desire to serve the citizens, the law and the country without compromise, I have the honor and responsibility to take on the highest position in our organization. I do not see this coronation simply as a professional achievement, but as a great responsibility towards the citizens and towards every employee of the State Police.

I take this special opportunity to thank the Prime Minister and the Albanian government for the trust given, as well as every colleague with whom we have shared this journey of sacrifices. I am grateful to every police officer who serves every day with dedication, as well as to their families, who bear the weight of this duty. Honor to the martyrs of the Police and respect to the veterans, who remain a source of inspiration. Much has been worked and sacrificed to date, the challenge remains to deepen the results and improve the image of the Police even more, because a worthy police officer is measured by the trust he gains every day from the citizens.

Police is not simply an institution that provides a service, it is the place where every citizen finds support, justice and trust. Our priorities are clear: The uncompromising fight against organized crime and corruption, starting from our own ranks; further increasing security parameters in schools and in every community; strengthening order and security throughout the country; modernizing the Police through technology, including the major "Smart City" project and training, according to the best European standards; further increasing transparency and accountability to citizens; support and motivation for every police officer who performs his duty with honesty and dedication; further strengthening cooperation with international partners and law enforcement agencies at home and abroad.

Dear citizens, the State Police is yours. It will always be on the side of the law and on your side, professional, ready and dedicated. Your security is our greatest obligation. Cooperation and trust between us are essential to building a more just society safe.

Honorable media representatives, you are important partners in fair and transparent information to the public. The State Police will be open and responsible in communication, increasing trust through transparency. Dear employees of the State Police, you are the pillar of this institution. From you I ask for dedication, honesty and unwavering respect for the law and citizens. I will be your supporter on the right path, but also a high demander of standards and responsibility, because we are preparing for the State Police of a European country. Let us work together for a police force that does not impose authority, but earns it every day through service and justice”, said Hita.
