SPAK demands prison for Beler/ Lawyer: Monetary charge

On Tuesday, SPAK gave the claim to the former elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, who is accused of buying votes in the elections of May 14 last year. Today, the Special Prosecutor's Office requested 2.6 years in prison for Beleri. 

Regarding this claim, Fredi Beleri's lawyer, Geni Gjyzari, said that everything is a monetary accusation. 

"They did not meet immediately, the operational group should have had a photo. There is no photo of Arsen, who is the main subject in the prosecutor's order. They did not bring us any film footage. They have no value in this process, let them take the phone , Fred had it. They found the banknotes, there are no fingerprints on any part. The whole thing is a monetary accusation. The whole process is based on the testimony of the two convicted brothers," he said.

We recall that Fredi Beleri was arrested in the premises of a bar in Himare, just 2 days before the local elections of May 14, 2023. For a long time, this issue has become the main topic of discussion in the relations between Greece and Albania. Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that this is a matter of justice./ CNA
