At the Voice of America microphone, they are optimistic that Secretary Blinken's visit will further strengthen Albanian-American cooperation and friendship, as well as increase support for Albania's integration into the European Union.

"We are pro-American, so I went out to meet and greet Secretary Blinken. I would like many other Albanians to work in the USA like Fan Noli and Faik Konica, so it is good for us to work here as well, to come and invest in Albania and beautify it as it is being beautified. We are pro-American and I am looking forward to seeing and greeting Mr. Blinken in Albania", says citizen Mira Xhani.

"We Albanians are lucky to have friends in the USA. Albania's two closest friends are this brilliant sun and the USA. Better days will come. The citizens affirm for the Voice of America that the Albanian-American relations are at an excellent level at present, while they remember the great support of the USA in Albania's efforts for freedom and democracy, and now they again believe that thanks to the American support, Albania will achieve other changes on the path of integration as a European country.

The capital was filled with American and Albanian flags, while citizens had gathered at street intersections to greet this visit.

"There will definitely be changes in the quality of Albanian-American relations, for Kosovo, for the Western Balkans. All the more so that we are before the realization of another dream, which is integration into the European Union", says citizen Luan Shehaj.

Citizens appreciated the early US friendship for Albania of more than 100 years, when they saved it from further fragmentation by insisting on the self-determination of small nations, a friendship that continues to be safe and fruitful for them.

"The USA is the most democratic country and we love America because it saved us from complete disintegration. We have this Albania from America. This is why we are pro-American and we love America and America loves us as well", says citizen Klement Xhani.
