Works on the new Viro Bridge nearing completion/ ARRSH reveals project details

The construction works for the new Viro Bridge are nearing completion, marking a significant investment in road infrastructure in the south of the country. The Director of the Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH), Ami Kozeli, has closely inspected the progress of the works.

According to the ARRSH, this bridge is considered one of the priority works due to its strategic importance for traffic in the area. The project included the construction of a new bridge with two spans, each 16.50 meters long, as well as the construction of a manhole connecting the old bridge at the lake dam with the Drinos River.

Additionally, structures have been constructed in accordance with the C2 road category, while the entry and exit junctions have been improved through a new road alignment, which runs parallel to the existing road on the river side.

The ARRSH announces that the completion and opening of this bridge will significantly improve the existing roadway, restore the bearing capacity of the structure and increase road safety. At the same time, it is expected to avoid traffic disruptions that were previously caused by floods./ CNA
