Fatos Nano's passing/Details of the farewell ceremony for the former Prime

Former Prime Minister Fatos Nano passed away the day before at the age of 73. Meanwhile, a state funeral ceremony will be held tomorrow at the Palace of Congresses in the capital.

The Prime Minister's Office has also published the ceremony program, from the start of the tributes to the funeral procession to the final resting place, in a private family ceremony.

Ceremony program:

08:30 – Start of public tributes;

11:00 – End of public tributes

11:15 – Tributes from state dignitaries and the Diplomatic Corps;

12:00 – Farewell funeral ceremony, in the presence of high state authorities and representatives of the Diplomatic Corps.

After the end of the state ceremony, the funeral procession will accompany the body of the deceased to the final resting place, in a private family ceremony.

The television signal of the entire ceremony will be provided by the central control room and will be broadcast live on the official platforms on Facebook and YouTube.

Photographers will have their own dedicated position in a special corner of the Hall of the Congress Palace.

The Council of Ministers decided yesterday to declare Sunday, November 2, a Day of Mourning for the passing of former Prime Minister Fatos Nano.

The former prime minister did not manage to overcome his battle with the disease. For more than two weeks, he had been hospitalized in serious health condition. Fatos Nano has been prime minister of Albania three times and for 14 years and 1 month the chairman of the Socialist Party. /CNA
