The well-known Albanian journalist dies prematurely

Zijadin Gashi, a journalist for Radio Evropa e Lire for many years, has passed away at the age of 51. He has faced a brain tumor in the last months of his life.

Gashi has practiced the profession of journalist since 1997, covering the political current affairs in Kosovo.

Earlier in the year, the Association of Journalists of Kosovo gave him recognition for his contribution to journalism, before and during the war in Kosovo, in the period 1998-'99.

From 2001 to 2020, he worked for Radio Free Europe as a journalist and for a period as bureau chief in Pristina - to then continue contributing to other media in Kosovo.

Zijadin Gashi completed his secondary education at the "Sami Frashëri" gymnasium in Prishtina, to continue his studies at the University of Prishtina. / CNA
