Former Minister Fatmir Mediu reacted today after leaving the Special Court, where a session was held today for the "Gërdeci" file.

In his speech to the media, Mediu said that if justice is sought, it can be done through demolition documents.

Mediu added that he has nothing personal with the victims' families, but he does not accept that politics be played on their behalf.

"Everything that is done in this hall has only one purpose, to hold a public trial. Since tragedy always creates opinion. If you have decided to judge by opinion and not by procedure and criminal code, then this process has failed. If justice wanted to do justice, there are several documents on the entire dismantling process. What is happening is that we are faced with a fact of a politically organized popular trial that has nothing to do with the accusation against the Ministry of Defense. Although there is a decision of the Supreme Court, there is no position on this issue from either the Prosecutor's Office or the Court. From the beginning, we have requested that the issue of statute of limitations be reviewed, but the judge said that we would review it at the end. She assumed the authority to continue the case and the review on the merits. Every request of ours to gain our right in the process as an accused party has been permanently ignored, none of our requests have been accepted by the court," said Mediu. /CNA
