Tourism experts point out that, due to the uncertainty of international travel, nearby European destinations such as Albania are a safer and more economical choice for British tourists. Albania is thus becoming one of Europe's most attractive summer vacation destinations, being described by experts as an "open secret" that can rival the Maldives, but at a much lower cost and with easier access for tourists from the United Kingdom and other countries on the continent.
