The President of the European Council, Ursula Von Der Leyen, has presented aid packages for the region and Albania, due to the crisis in which the countries are located due to the war in Ukraine.

She announced the EU package for the region and said it would help ease the costs of high energy prices.

"We have decided that the only answer we can come up with is through unity and solidarity. We are part of an energy union, which is why we are proposing a support package for energy in the Western Balkans to help alleviate high energy prices for businesses, families and citizens. It is an 80 million euro grant. The second part is about the support that will come after January, in the medium and long term. We are talking about 500 million euros in grants to invest in the energy infrastructure in the entire region", said the president./ CNA.al
