Renowned lawyer receives death threats

The police have referred a complaint to the city prosecutor's office, requesting the initiation of criminal prosecution against a person who threatened the life of lawyer and activist Ardiana Kalaja.

According to police, the threats were sent via the social network Facebook from a fake profile named "Klaus Bianconeri".

The threatening messages included frightening statements about Kala's life and included political references, mentioning senior figures in the country, according to journalist Elton Qyno.

After managing the messages and questioning the lawyer, the police material was forwarded to the Tirana prosecutor's office for further investigation, requesting information from Facebook to locate the threatening person's IP address.

The investigative material bears the number 5137 and has been administered since February 24, 2026. Currently, the case has not yet been assigned to a prosecutor for the initiation of investigative procedures.

Ardiana Kalaja is a well-known lawyer and activist of the Democratic Party, known for criminal and civil charges against senior figures in Albanian politics, giving this case special media and legal attention./ CNA
