Former minister seeks freedom/ Here's when the GJKKO hearing for Ilir Beqaj will be held

The Kosovo Criminal Court will review tomorrow the request of former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, who has requested his release from prison.

The court hearing is scheduled to be held at 11:30, where the arguments presented by the former minister's defense regarding the change in security measures are expected to be evaluated.

Beqaj has been in prison since July 4, 2024, while investigative procedures are ongoing against him. The request for release comes at a time when the court is expected to review whether the conditions still exist for the continuation of the "prison arrest" measure or for a lighter security measure.

The decision of the GJKKO is expected to give a signal on the further progress of the case and the legal position of the former minister./ CNA
