The Austrian Ambassador to Albania, Monica Zach, stated from Shkodra that Albania still has a lot to do in the process of integration into the European Union. Ambassador Zach stated that Albania has a number of challenges and many reforms to plan and implement, hinting that despite the support of countries like Austria, it will not be an easy process.

"We have seen a lot of progress and of course we support this progress of Albania in the process of integration into the European Union. Of course we know that the path forward to Albania's full membership in the EU has many challenges that need to be overcome. There are still many reforms to plan and to implement as well, but of course what I want to say is that Albania's progress on the path towards the EU is visible. The European Commission has described in a very clear, concrete and protocol manner the steps that need to be taken and this path is step by step and it is a process that will be validated with the reforms and legislation that will be made regarding this journey", said Zach.

Ambassador Zach participated in the annual Austrian celebration held in Shkodra by the Honorary Consul in this city, Gjergj Leqejza, saying that it is an important year for the Austrians.

"It has now become a tradition that on the anniversary of Austria's National Day, the opening of the Austrian Cultural Week in Albania takes place. This year it is even more important because there are several anniversaries. One of them is the 30th anniversary of Austria, Sweden and Finland's membership in the European Union and it is also the 200th anniversary of Strauss, and for this reason a musical quintet has been selected to perform a variation on how modern jazz music meets Strauss precisely during Austria's cultural week," said the ambassador.

The Austria Festival in Shkodra was attended by local leaders, clergy and a number of personalities from various fields. /CNA
