The Public Health expert, Erion Dasho, revealed the government of Edi Rama regarding the number of tourists who came to Albania during 2023.

The doctor says that the figure of 10 million tourists that Rama declares is inflated, as he points out that the correct statistics of Albanian tourism should be 2 million.

Dasho has published a table, which shows that about 6 million tourists were Albanians from Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro, who came several times during the year.

He declares that nearly 2 million other Albanians have emigrated to England, Italy, Greece, Germany and other countries.

Another scam exposed

All Albanians felt proud of the significant increase in the number of tourists during 2023. Personally, I have no doubt about it, as three German work colleagues visited Albania as family and several others are preparing to visit this year.

But Borat's slanderous propaganda about supposedly 10 million "tourists" turns all this positive feeling into disgust. Greece, a world tourism destination with tens of years of experience, reports 30 million tourists a year, i.e. only three times more than Albania.

How is it explained?

The table below explains everything. Borat's "tourists" are first of all nearly 6 million Albanians from Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro, or more precisely, not 6 million, but several hundreds of thousands who have come to Albania several times a year.

The other category consists of Albanians residing in England, Italy, Greece, Germany and in other destination countries of Albanian emigration. According to the data, these should be more than 2 million.

So, in the best case, there are 2 million "real" tourists, which is again a great achievement for our tourism.

If we did not have a fraudulent demagogue at the head of the state, 2 million would be the correct statistics of Albanian tourism. I wish that this number becomes 3 or 4 million this year, because the Albanian tourism industry and its long-suffering actors have the right to be rewarded for the effort and investment made.
