Flag Day/Peleshi: We are in an era of pride, on the way to the EU

In the 112th anniversary of the Independence of Albania, in the ceremony held near the city's pedestrian street, political figures participated who, as a sign of honor and respect, placed wreaths of flowers near the monument of the "National Warrior".

The chairman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party, Niko Peleshi, spoke exclusively to Cna TV on this marked day, stressing that November is the month of holidays.

Peleshi says that these 112 years of Albania's history are filled with many events and challenges, where Korça occupies a special place with the historical figures who have contributed to our country.

"We are in the November of holidays, and another holiday has even been added, November 22, the day of the alphabet, but today we are on November 28 after a ceremony that has become customary in Korça and all of Albania on Flag Day, Independence Day.

112 years is not a little for a country. Holidays are always commemorations and meditation on history and of course everyone individually or institutionally thinks about the future. 112 years of Albania's history are filled with many events, with many challenges, with many historical figures who have contributed. "Korça occupies a special place, since the first day, even before Independence, with the First Albanian Teacher, and with all the contribution that our revivalists have made that brought independence", said Peleshi.

Peleshi recalls that on the Independence Day there were signatories who had an important role, while today the future of Albania as part of the EU is being considered.

"On Independence Day we had 6 signatories, so we have an important role in the history of Albania's independence and we want to have our role in Albania's future as well", said Peleshi.

Through Cna TV, Peleshi emphasizes that we are in an era of pride as Albania was positioned on the right side of history by already having the right to request membership in the great European family. Among other things, Peleshi congratulates all Albanians on this marked day.

"On the eve of the historic moment of EU membership, after a few years in 2030 we intend to be ready for membership, this would be the second moment after the independence and liberation of the country, of course, the most important historical moment for Albania.

Through your prestigious media, I want to wish as an advance for the 80th anniversary of Liberation, the second world war, the liberation war, it is also an era of pride for Albania because Albania this time was positioned on the right side of history, which gives us today we have the creed and the historical right to seek our place in the European family, always with a view to EU membership.
