Today, President Bajram Begaj has set the date of the local elections. According to Begaj, the local elections will be held on May 14, 2023. After this decision, the head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, reacted.

Through a Twitter status, Celibashi says that the CEC will prepare for their administration according to recognized and accepted international standards.

The head of the CEC stated that professionalism, impartiality, transparency and cooperation with political parties, the media and civil society are reconfirmed as fundamental characteristics of the CEC's activity.
